Unexpected Snow!

Yesterday it snowed but Keoni was napping when it really started to fall and then by the time he woke up it was dark. So we stayed inside but the next morning I bundled up Kona the nightbeast and we went to the backyard to play.

I am being such a picturaholic these past few days! I love taking pictures. I erase half of the ones I take too!

When he first went out he wanted nothing to do with the snow.

He mowed the patio. This is the first time he's played with this toy since he started walking. :)

He tried to shake his shoes off! Holy moley that's a whole 'nother story.

He played with his outside exersaucer. All on the porch.

Until suddenly he was ready to brave the snow. I didn't want him to get too wet too fast so I carried him to his play garden.
He tried to brush the snow off of it.

He played outside for about 20 minutes and he was done! He got whiney and his little hands were turning red! Next time gloves for sure! I hope he puts them on. I already tried once this season with no luck.
For pics of the snow last year. Look under label snow 2008.
Finally inside out of the cold and into warm jammies!

Dad and Keoni put together a toybox.

Keoni got a "toybox" from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas. Keoni decided he should help Dad put it together.

He started off with taking out all the pieces. Of course he had to sit on them first.

He continued to take out pieces while Dad looked over the directions. Because Ikea's directional pictures are so easy to interpret. . . not for me. They usually confuse me more!

Enough work for now. Time for a snack break.

Back to work.

Gotta help Dad support the pieces.

I didn't get pictures of Keoni putting his hand in glue and him tasting it. He also tried to "write" on the wood with a screwdriver. Oh goodness. Before they could finish it was Keoni's bedtime.
Here is the finished toybox and I love it! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa! :)

Our Merry Christmas!

Our morning started at 8am as it usually does. We leisurely got dressed and then hurried over to my parents house. Everyone was waiting for us and ready to open presents! This was the year of bonus presents as my parents began to tell us a month or two ago. This year was full of bonuses. Bryan, Keoni and I moved into a new house, Keoni's first birthday luau was so much fun with all the family and friends that were able to make it, and all the traveling we were able to do to visit with family during fun and sad times.

What a way to start off a beautiful Christmas day than a pic with my brother, Kaliki!

Keoni got a bunch of books from Uncle Kaliki and Lucas.

Dad got a telescope from Mom and Kaliki.

Lucas opening presents from Auntie Laura and our Grandma.

Dad and Mary.

"What? Bonus present for moi?"

Kaliki had a heck of a time unwrapping his bonus present. Dad wrapped it and to make sure Kaliki wouldn't guess what it was he used packing tape and attached an old phone and a toy of Keoni's that has bells on it to the outside of the presents box. My Dad continues to amaze us.

I had to start him off but Keoni did like opening presents.

He loved this candy cane that Grandpa gave him. By the end of the candy cane his face and hands were covered in sticky redness. Grandpa!!

Time to play!

Grandpa and Keoni had to take a break after dinner. We were all so full. Dinner was so good!

Bryan and I.
Christmas Eve family came over to our house for dinner. We let Keoni open his bonus gift. It was a laugh and learn playhouse. He loves it! It has so much to do and listen too.

Christmas time rocks!

Kayla was over for that evening. We let her open her presents then.

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas card in the making.

It's Keoni's second Christmas and he is just too cute not to put on our Xmas Card. . .

Here he is having a fit before we even got started.

Not bad . . .

Pretty cute.

SLIDE BREAK!!

Oh heck, I'm outta here!

Just pick one already!

The WINNER! Merry Christmas!

Keoni ~ The walker in pictures.

Now that Keoni walks he also picks up various stuff and takes them into other rooms and leaves them there. Good luck on finding both of your shoes together or the recyclables still in the kitchen. Nope this kid is a mover and a mess maker!

Here he is only a couple days walking. You can tell because his arms are raised for balance. Today, 10 days later he doesn't raise his arms as much.

Here he is with an ornament off the Christmas tree. He actually returned it to the tree! Yay!

This milk jug on the other hand ended up in his room.

Here he is with his Daddy's shoe.

Then with a blanket of his. He is really beginning to like blankets. He likes to cuddle with them and play hide-n-seek.
Oh my little walker!

He's a walkin'!

Keoni started to walk on Tuesday of this past week. It is unbelievably cute! He holds his hands up like he's a little Frankenstein. 16 months old. I'm relieved, not that I was worried but I thought kids started to walk around 12 or 13 months typically. Oh well, he's walking now and he LOVES it.

I downloaded the wrong video. I thought i'd leave it anyway. Oh, and I can't find what I did want to download. . .

Thanksgiving at Grandma Alma's.

On our way . . . baby boy drumming his little heart out in the back seat.

This is actually our last day. Can't forget to take pictures with Grandma!

Keoni and Daddy having a blast on the neighbor's trampoline.

Who cut the turkey?
Richard and Alan.
Delicious!
All of us watching in anticipation of the tastiness about to come our way.

Keoni got along so well with his cousin Callie. He even tried to give her a big 'ol smooch but she was having no part of that! It was so funny. He was going in for the kiss and she put her hand up on his shoulder and held him back and just looked at us like "help!"

Keoni and Angie.

Keoni was eating clam dip in this picture. Yes, I fed my child shellfish. He LOVED it, more than the chip it was on.

The wonderfully constructed make-shift gate that Grandma Alma and Aunt Janet rigged to slow this crazy baby from taking the stairs by storm.

Megan and Keoni last year at Thanksgiving. Look at that cutie sleeping boy.

Megan and Keoni at Thanksgiving this year! They both have grown SO much! I can't believe it!

The day before Thanksgiving Bryan, me, Keoni, Uncle Mike, and Megan went to the Treehouse. It's a childrens's museum that has 2 floors of exhibits, toys and games to experiment and play with. We all had a great time!

Gotta love the drums!
Keoni's thinking, "Who's this guy?"

The fish tank was beautiful. I love looking at fish.

On our last day we went to visit Ed's gravesite. Alma had picked out a beautiful headstone.

Peace, Love, and Joy to One and All!
